The Sky Tonight by Stargazer Steve
FRIDAY JANUARY 9, EVG: The bright object in Gemini in the eastern evening sky, Jupiter, is at “Opposition” tonight. That means Earth is close to a line between the Sun and Jupiter, so that Jupiter rises at Sunset and is opposite the Sun in the Sky (180 degrees away). It is up all night, and the distance to Jupiter is at its minimum for the year.
